# Showcase your app

Every public Koo [app](/docs/apps/apps-and-services) gets a page on koo.io — a place to show what you built, collect upvotes, and take comments. This guide covers app visibility, what your public page shows today, and how to get discovered.

## Public vs private apps

Every app has a visibility setting: **public** or **private**.

Making an app public exposes its showcase page only. Visitors see the app's name, its live URL, and social activity — never your [environment variables and secrets](/docs/configuration/env-and-secrets), [logs](/docs/observability/logs), or deployment history.

## Your app's public page

Public apps render at `koo.io/@handle/app-slug`, where the handle belongs to the account that owns the app — see [Your profile](/docs/showcase/your-profile). The page shows, live today:

> The page reserves space for richer content — tagline, photo, video, links — but those fields can't be authored yet. The profile editor below will fill them in.

## Author your app profile (Coming soon)

A profile editor, reachable from your own app page when you're signed in as the owning account, will let you fill out the public page:

Members with the editor role or above on the owning account will be able to edit the profile; see [Teams and roles](/docs/collaboration/teams-and-roles). Saved profile fields will feed the search index, so a newly added tag or term will start matching in search right away.

## Getting featured in Discover

[Discover](/docs/showcase/discovery-and-community) ranks public apps by search relevance and community activity; trending weighs an app's score against how recently it was earned. To rank well:
